Coast to Coast
Coast to coast is an unexpected project, without pretensions; it arises on having returned to contemplate the landscapes of nature, which inert in the memory seemed to have disappeared, and that on having returned to live through them return memories to us and to idealize moments and past situations. The apparent immobility of the natural spaces, the invaluable changes that take place in the Nature, help us to move back in the time with benevolence, when we contemplate them still in personal situations that may have nothing to see on having been in temporary different spaces. The sensation of travelling in the time enjoying a known landscape, and simultaneously forgotten, it recalls past experiences. This sensation is the one that has stimulated me to materialize this project. More than 36 years have passed since my wife (Pilar), my son (Roberto) and I live for one year in Tenerife. This period of time has produced logical changes in the infrastructures of the island, but not in the landscapes, through which Pilar and I have returned to re-live Landscapes that the nature has kept intact in order that we could return to enjoy them and to make ourselves feel the same sensations of then.
